One of BYU’s most enjoyable traditions is Hike and Light the Y. Since 1924, hundreds of students and alumni alike have participated in lighting the Y every BYU Homecoming, Freshmen Orientation, graduation, and Y Days. Students hike Y Mountain and light up the 380 foot high Y with more than 200 lights.
Students can meet outside the east entrance to the J. Reuben Clark Law School to ride in the shuttle to the base of Y Mountain. Shuttles begin running at 6 p.m.
